MORE THAN A LIGHT
[[Joh 9:5]] KJV As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
These are the words of the Master Himself before His crucifixion, “Am the light of the world.” He said the same about us. In Mathew 5:14 , Jesus said, “You are the light of the world.” He likens us to Himself.
In 1John 4:17, we are told that “…As He is: so are we in this world.” He WAS the light of the world then, but now, He is the brightness and outshining of the glory of God (Heb 1:3).
And as He is (right now), so are we IN THIS WORLD! So you are more than the light of the world. You shine forth God’s glory because you are called to show forth the praises of Him who has called you unto glory *(1Pet 2:9).
As the light of the world however, there are a few things you must know;
- You are THE light of the world and not a light in the world. You are the world’s light. Without you the world is in total darkness. You give life and hope to your world. You were not born into your family by accident: you are their only light and hope.
- Light reveals. Without light vision and discovery is not possible. Darkness conceals, but light reveals. People cannot discover themselves without you. You give direction and revelation to your world. People look at you and get inspired to become better. YOU ARE NOT ORDINARY. Refuse to live an ordinary life.
- Light travels fastest. You cannot be chased because you are graced for your pace. In your case, you move at the speed of the spirit. God has made you swifter than your adversaries. And absolutely nothing can stop you!
- Light overpowers darkness. Darkness can’t stand light. The devil and all his demons put together can’t stand you. Always know that the devil is not your co-equal. And don’t let any preacher put him above you.
You are THE light of the world. You are a radiator of divine glory. You are the life, hope and direction for your world. So refuse to live in darkness. Be large and in charge. Be the hope. Inspire others to discover themselves. Live life to the full. You’re more than light: you are a life-giver!
Confession:
I live my life for God’s glory. Am the radiator of divine glory. I shine forth God’s light in me everywhere I go. I give hope to the people around me. Darkness can’t stand me. Glory!
