DON’T SPEAK EVIL OF OTHERS
[[Jas 4:11]] KJV Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
In the above, we are instructed not to speak evil of other brethren or to judge. Many times, believers find themselves in such wrong positions. Many become self-righteous and critical of others. It’s wrong for you to speak evil of others. The reason is because there’s nothing glorious and edifying about evil. Our speach must edify and build up others.
For example, if you find a brother in sin or overcome by a weakness, you don’t talk about it. That is evil, and we must “not speak evil one of another.” In such situation, you must rather pray and strengthen such a person. Christianity is not a competition. We are not trying to outdo one another. Rather, it’s a family: the family of God. And we must build one another.
Love is the center of all that we are. Love must lead us. Our perception must be saturated with divine love. Our heart must be moved towards one another. Jesus said, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” *(Joh 13:35). Love doesn’t see evil nor keep record of it. Hallelujah!
Determine today to cultivate the right attitude. Refuse to speak evil or be critical of others. Allow the Holy Ghost to flood your heart with true love for others. And if you see evil, shut your mouth. Refuse to speak evil. Let glorious and edifying things only proceed from your mouth. Glory! Speak excellent words. Let the opening of your lips be the right things. Hallelujah!
[[Pro 8:6]] KJV Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for enlightening me today through your word. I declare that your word is alive in me and produces results in me. I refuse to speak evil. I speak excellent and edifying things. My heart is saturated with your word. I see others through your eyes in Jesus’ name.
