GREATNESS OUT OF GREAT MESS

[[Ecc 9:11]] KJV I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

Greatness has not always been the obvious choice. Mighty men have emerged from strange backgrounds. People of great power usually have had very humble beginnings. God is able to create great men out of great mess. God picks from the floor. Never forget that.

In our opening text, God announced the emergence of a ruler among His people. He contended that though Bethlehem Ephratah was the little among thousands of Judah, yet out of her shall emerge a ruler in Israel. God is able to raise heroes out of zero. God can build a nation out of the dust. And irrespective of who you are or where you are coming from, heaven can still fulfil purpose with you.

Solomon the king made a wise observation, he propounded; “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all” *(Ecc 9:11). This affirms the fact that a man’s background or disadvantages can have no bearing on destiny when God is involved.

Today, refuse to focus on those things that seek to impede you. Believe in the dream God has put in your heart. And go for it. Don’t consider your situations. Only focus on how BIG your God is.

Abraham was a Syrian ready to perish. David was at the backside of the wilderness tending sheep. Gedion was rejected and cast out by his own people. Zacchaeus was too short. Jesus was born in a manger. Paul was a murderer. But if God was able to do something significant with their lives, you are not an exception. So keep hope alive.

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for your election of grace. I bless you for what you have made out of me. I receive your grace for maximum impact and I declare in Jesus’ name that all things are working together right now for my good. Thank you, Lord.
