LIVING ABOVE OFFENCES
[[2Co 6:3]] AKJV Giving no offense in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
Offence is the state of feeling angry and hurt by someone else. It is a major roadblock to exploits in the ministry. When we allow offences to saturate our hearts, we become hardened and non-pliable. Offence is the reason why people leave churches and quit the ministry. Solomon, the king, observed:
[[Pro 18:19]] AKJV A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.
Many have lost their place in the ministry because they allowed themselves to be offended. An offended brother is hard to win back. No one who offends another is justified. Notwithstanding, we have the responsibility to fortify ourselves against offences because we have a lot to lose.
Jesus told us that offence will certainly come. There’s no way you’ll serve or be relevant in the ministry without being offended. Anyone who has done something worthwhile for God has been offended in many ways at sundry times. We activate the blessing in our lives when we overpower offences. Jesus puts it this way, “… blessed is he, whoever shall not be offended in me” *(Mat 11:6). There’s a blessing in living free from offense.
To break free from the deadly venom of offences, you must become an addict to and a lover of God’s word. The Psalmist understood this principle. He emphasized, “Great peace have they which love your law (word): and nothing shall offend them” *(Psa 119:165). When you love the word of God, absolutely nothing offends you. Hallelujah! So, decide to live above offences. As you serve in the ministry, brace yourself against offences.
Prayer:
Father, I thank you for instructing me in your word today. I break free from offences. I refuse to allow offences into my heart. I walk in great peace and joy doing the work of the ministry in Jesus’ name.
Glory
I live above offenses in JESUS NAME.
My heart is filled with love.
Thank you Pastor
