THE ART OF DISCIPLESHIP

[[Col 1:3, 4]] KJV We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

  • Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,

In the above, a very important attitude of the early apostles is beautifully captured: they ALWAYS prayed for the younger ones in the faith since the day they came to faith in Christ. This must be our attitude and practice too. We must develop the art of ALWAYS PRAYING for those who come to faith. This is part of making disciples.

Remember that the Master’s final instruction to us is to go and make disciples *(Mat 28:19). Discipleship is more than just winning souls. In discipleship, you win and establish a soul in the faith. And to do this, prayer is key. You must cultivate a special time during which you pray for the growth, stability and establishment of souls you lead to Christ. This is not the work of some special people in the church; this must be our lifestyle. Hallelujah!

Our sole purpose for being here is not to makes more money or advance in human learning: our sole purpose for being here is discipleship. We are called to go out into all nations and make disciples. The question is how many souls have you won? And how many of them have you discipled, stabilized and established? Your answer must get you thinking because this is purpose!

May the anointing of a soul winner rest on you today. May the grace to raise and disciple souls rest on you. And may the Holy Ghost empower you and make you relevant in the building up and establishment of others in the faith. I see you touching lives in Jesus’ name. Glory to God!

Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to stay true to my calling. I receive the grace and capacity to build and disciple others in the faith. And I pray for souls I’ve won to be strengthened and established in Jesus’ name. I declare that they shall not to removed, but shall abide and abound in you Lord. Thank you Lord.
