THE LIFE OF THANKSGIVING
[[1Th 5:18]] KJV In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
The New Testament is saturated with diverse strands of thanksgiving. You find that every aspect of the believer’s life is connected to thanksgiving. And Paul shows us that it’s actually the will of God for us in Christ. In other words, God wants us to always abound with thanksgiving.
We must give thanks because we are partakers of the grace that puts us into the ministry (1Cor 10:30). Every challenge we go through to get others establish in the ministry causes thanksgiving of many to redound to the glory of God (2Cor 9:12). Our prosperity which is as a result of our seed sowing causes thanksgiving through us to God (2Cro 9:11).
Through thanksgiving we make our request to God in prayer (Phil 4:6). We are to be rooted and established in the faith abounding with thanksgiving (Col 2:7). We are to watch in prayer with thanksgiving (Col 4:2). We must receive every food God has created for us with thanksgiving (1Tim 4:3.4).
Finally, when we meet the LORD our song will be full of thanksgiving, glory and honour to Him (Rev 7:12). We see clearly that thanksgiving is an inevitable part of our life. When we fail to give thanks, we are unable to live our lives to the full. We don’t thank God because He does things for us: thanksgiving must be our very life. Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Dear God, my heart is filled with thanksgiving to you. I bless you with all that is within me. I magnify you above everything in the universe. I declare that you alone are God, and you’re bigger that and above all things.
Glory!
I have an attitude of gratitude.
Thank.you Lord for your goodness to me.
Thank you Pastor
