YOUR SERVICE

[[Psa 100:2]] KJV Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

The Apostle Paul in Romans 12:11 admonishes us “Not (to be) slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.” We are called to serve the Lord. God delights in our service. It’s not enough to be born again; after salvation, we must serve our Lord and King. Your life must become meaningful and relevant to God in the ministry. Your life must count for something.

You must look for some form of ministry in the local Church where you can be actively involved and be doing the work of the ministry. This service must supersede every other thing we do in this life. You must place the highest value on your service in church because no matter how well and excellent you do whatever you do, if it’s not in the local church and for the kingdom, it will have no heavenly commendation. Only what we do for God will stand for eternity. Glory to God!

Whereas others miss this glorious opportunity to walk in kingdom blessing and obtain eternal rewards through service in the house of God, countless who serve also unfortunately cultivate the wrong attitude. This is why our opening text admonished us to serve the Lord with gladness. There is ‘a-how-to-serve.’ You must serve with gladness of heart. In order words, be excited about working for God. Never feel tired. Be fervent. Don’t ever allow anyone, your job or feelings, and offence to rob you of this heavenly bliss. The reason is that nothing else rewards apart from serving the Lord.

See your service as a privilege because it is. Never get tired. Never allow a friend or feeling to take its place. Serving the Lord will free you from falling prey to the enemy. Deu 28:47,48 cautions us: “Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; *Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.” The hard truth here is that service is inevitable: you either serve God or your enemies. There’s no middle ground! Serving the Lord is the surest way to stay away from destruction. So find something doing in church, and if you are already serving, serve with gladness of heart. Hallelujah!

Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for enlightening me about serving in church. Today, I make a quality decision to in the ministry and with the right attitude. I serve with joy and gladness of heart all for Jesus, and nothing shall rob my passion in Jesus’ name.
