ANOTHER CHANCE
[[Jon 3:1]] KJV And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
God is the God of second chance. God gives people another chance and opportunity. Many times, people’s opinion about God can be so twisted that when they mess up, they write themselves off. God, on the other hand, however, is the opposite of that; He gives people the opportunity to make things right.
Solomon made a startling observation, he propounded; “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; BUT TIME AND CHANCE HAPPENETH TO THEM ALL” *(Ecc 9:11). In every given TIME, God gives people the CHANCE to make things right.
In our opening text, Jonah disobeyed God, went his own way, got swallowed up by a fish, cried to God, and God spoke to the fish to vomit Jonah. After all these, God SPOKE AGAIN TO JONAH THE SECOND TIME. Jonah messed up the first time, but God gave him another chance.
God will give you another chance. Don’t write yourself off, and think that all is lost. God can and will raise you up again. You can still be used by God. Your marriage can be restored again if you allow God to. He is the God of a second chance. He wants to give you another chance. So you can go get it! Start again! Go ask again!
Release your faith because God is gone ahead of you to make things right. You have another chance. Get up! Kick off! And don’t blow it this time!
Prayer:
Father, I thank you for your great love for me. Thank you for giving me another opportunity, I release my faith and yield to your voice. I receive the blessing of another opportunity in Jesus’ name. Amen.
