THE GREAT PRICE
[[1Pe 3:4]] KJV But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
Peter admonished wives to be submissive to their husbands. And he went ahead to tell them that their beauty must not be in their makeup and dressing, but rather adorn themselves with ornaments of a meek and quiet spirit which in the sight of God of great price.
Meekness and quietness is a power. Many times, we turn to think that being loud and aggressive is strength. We fight to be seen, and heard. Meekness however is not weakness. It’s humility and non-boastfulness. It’s the conference that comes from knowing who you are in Christ.
And Peter shows us that this attitude is of great price in the sight of God. Think about it. Whereas in the sight of men, a meek and a quiet spirit may be considered a fool, in the realm of the spirit, it’s a superlative virtue: it’s an ability of the Spirit.
So allow the Holy Spirit to raise you in the way of meekness. Cease from boasting. Walk in humility and be submissive. You don’t lose anything from being humble. You rather walk in a virtue that has a great price in God’s sight and in the realm of the spirit. This is the way to walk in unparalleled spiritual power. Glory to God!!
Prayer:
Dear Holy Spirit, thank you for teaching me. I receive the grace to walk in humility and meekness. Help me to cultivate a quiet spirit, pleasing you always in Jesus’ name.
