THE ENERGY OF THE SPIRIT
[[1Pe 4:11]] KJV If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Two important instructions are given through the Spirit to us. First, we must speak as the oracle of God. Oracle, ‘logion’ in the Greek means, the very utterance of God. This means, anytime we speak, we must speak the exact words of God like God Himself will speak in the same given situation.
The next instruction is that when we minister, we must minister by the ability that God gives. The word, ‘ability’ in the above is the Greek, ‘ischos’ which means force, strength, power or energy. It specifically refers to an inherent, active force or energy—often described as the physical, muscular, or ready capacity to hold your ground and overcome resistance.
This is the only way you can do the ministry: by the energy and inner ability that God gives. With your strength, good intentions, and hard work, you will soon be weary. Evangelism, prayer, studying the bible, and all these glorious things will soon became very laborious without the energy that comes from the Holy Ghost.
Even fellowship with the Spirit becomes heavy to bear without the Spirit’s energy. This is why you must always consciously pray for the energy of the Spirit, and minister by that ability. When we do, His yoke becomes easy, and the burden became light. Step out today in the energy of the Spirit. You will win the most difficult soul with ease. The energy of the Spirit flows in you. I see you minister in the fullness of the energy of the Spirit. Win!
Prayer:
Thank you Father for your word. Without you I can do nothing. I ask for your energy. I receive the supply of the energy of the Spirit, and I declare that I function by the ability of the Holy Ghost in Jesus’ name in my ministry.
