CUSTOMS AND PRACTICES
[[Luk 4:16]] KJV And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
Jesus had a custom of going to the synagogue on the sabbath. A custom is a routine or the frequent repetition of the same behavior. Jesus didn’t do things as and when. He had a plan. He had a routine. And He followed it through.
In Mark 1 for example, the Bible shows us that ‘in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he (Jesus) went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed’ (Mar 1:35). This was His custom. He had a daily routine.
Routine generates consistency. And consistency is the power the produces success in every area of life. Jesus’ success in ministry was not accidental or prophetic. He had a custom that made it possible for Him to be successful. You too must have a custom if you are going to have power in any area of life.
Prosperity has a lifestyle. To have power with God, you must have a custom. You must have a routined prayer life, bible study, and fellowship with the Spirit. Things must not be done sporadically. It must be by design. You must have a plan and stick to it. Remember that the power of anything is in its consistency.
Prayer:
Thank you LORD for teaching me your word today. Help me develop routines and practices that will help me stand perfect in all your will for my life, and fulfill your plan for my life in Jesus’ name.
