BEING ZEALOUSLY AFFECTED
[[Gal 4:18]] KJV But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.
To be zealously affected means being very passionate and enthusiastic with what you do. And the Bible shows us that it’s a good thing. What Paul is saying is that, when you the opportunity to do something that is good, you must become very passionate and enthusiastic about it.
In our service to God, zeal matters. Because the work of God is a good thing (1Tim 3:1). God delights in out zeal. The bible admonished us to be ‘fervent in spirit, serving the LORD’ (Rom 12:11). We must burn with zeal. People respond to zeal and passion. The world wants to see you burn with the fire of the Spirit. That is what will attract them.
Do outreach like you’ve lost your mind. Pray like your life depends on it because it does. Don’t hide your passion for the LORD. Let everyone know you in the office as a Spirit-filled believer. This doesn’t mean you should be weird. It simply means you should be like Jesus. Let people see you and say “The zeal of the LORD’S house has eaten him up” (Joh 2:17).
Don’t hide who you are. Be proud that you are a church girl. Sometimes, the world will make you feel like they have something better to offer. The organise loud parties and take great liberty in the area of illicit sex. Don’t let these things make you shy away from your faith. There is no life in it.
It’s a power to be a good girl. It’s a virtue to be a virgin. Amidst even your weaknesses and faults, it’s a great thing to know that you’re still loved and forgiven by God, and that you are a work in process. So never hide your zeal. Don’t quench the fire. Always know that it’s a good thing to be zealously affected in a good work. Glory to God!
Prayer:
Father I thank you for your word today. I walk in the fullness of your power. I burn with your fire. Help me to stay aglow for you. Let me be so consumed with love and unquenchable passion for your and the work of the ministry in Jesus’ name.
