GROWING IN GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE
[[2Pe 3:18]] KJV But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Peter in his epistle the brethren concluded by reminding them about the things that are bound to happen in these last days. He said, “…I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance…Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts (2Pet 3:1,3).
Then he went ahead to admonish us that we stand our grounds in faith and not be carried away by these deception and wreck our faith. “Be on your guard that you do not get led astray by the error of these unprincipled men and fall from your firm grasp on the truth. (2Pet 3:17 NET).
It is important to know that after being saved, you can be led astray by false teachings and unprincipled men who say things that makes you feel foolish about your faith, and even make you question your beliefs. To guard against such men and philosophies, Apostle Peter instructs us to grow in grace and in the knowledge of the LORD Jesus.
This is your responsibility. God can’t do that for you. Your pastor can’t do it for you either. You must be intentional about growing in the knowledge of God. Take your quiet time and personal bible study seriously. Be intentional about SLD. Listen to messages, and establish yourself strongly in the truth of God’s word. Hallelujah!
Prayer:
Dear LORD, thank you for teaching me your word. I commit myself to intentional studying of your word. Open my eyes to see and to grow in your word in Jesus’ name.
