PERFECTING THE CAPTAIN OF YOUR SALVATION

[[Heb 2:10]] KJV For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Jesus is the Captain, Author, and Chief Leader of our salvation. ‘Salvation’ here is the Greek, ‘Soteria’ which means deliverance, health, wealth, safety, preservation, the list is endless. Jesus being the author means that He is the creator of our prosperity, health, preservation, and deliverance.

This is why He went through suffering: so that He can purchase our health and wealth by His death. Jesus’ purpose for suffering or dying was so that we will be saved, healthy, wealthy, and live in safety. He didn’t just die as our sin penalty, but also to author or create our soteria; prosperity, health, and endless blessings.

His main aim was to bring us (His sons) unto glory. ‘Glory’ is ‘Doxa’ which means honour, splendor, excellence, magnificence, preeminence, and grace. Jesus died for you to become all these. And here, Paul argues that we must live up to this glory in order to make the captain of our salvation perfect through suffering.

In order words, when we fail and live in poverty and non-excellence, we waste His suffering. We shouldn’t make Jesus’ death be for nothing. So rise as a son (‘Uihos’ -matured sons), and lay hold on all that God procured for you in Christ. You do this by releasing your faith, and making confessions of all that you are in Christ until they become the reality of life. Glory to God!

Confession:
Thank you LORD for your word. I am a son unto glory. I walk in health, and prosperity. My life is preserved in Christ. I’m a success in all things. I declare that I am all that Jesus suffered for me to be in Jesus’ name.
