THE EFFECT OF THE WORD OF GOD
[[Act 10:44]] KJV While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
When Peter visited the house of Cornelius and preached the word of God to them, something remarkable happened. While Peter was yet preaching, the Holy Ghost fell on them that heard the word. Two things are key here: first, the Holy Ghost fell as the word of God was preached.
Secondly, the Holy Ghost fell on them that heard the word and not just those who were present. The attention we give to the word matters. When the word of God enters, the Spirit is released. Jesus said, “…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (Joh 6:63). There is an impartation of Spirit when God’s word is preached.
Ezekiel 2:2 says, “And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.” So when the word is preached three things happen. 1. The Spirit enters. The Holy Ghost begins to handle issues and perform miracles when the word is preached. Even now, the Holy Ghost is fixing things in your life as you read this word! 2. The Spirit sets you upon your feet through the word.
When the word is preached, if you were down and lowly, the Holy Ghost sets you up on your feet. Faith comes alive. Hope is activated. And you receive the stamina to stand. I see you rising again. Then finally, you are able to hear God. Rhema is stirred in your spirit. You suddenly know what to do. Today, the Holy Ghost is setting you on your feet even now. You shall return with a testimony by the close of day. Only believe!
Prayer:
Thank you LORD Jesus for your word today. I rejoice at your word. My faith is alive through your word. I receive the stamina to stand and prevail against all odds. I walk in victories today. The day yields its best to me. I win by the word in Jesus’ name.
