THE WORD POWER

[[Act 8:13]] KJV Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

Philip went down to Samaria when the church was scattered in Jerusalem, and preached Christ there. Prior to this, Simon the sorcerer had bewitched the entire city, and the bible says: “…all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God” (Acts 8:10).

When Simon spoke, everyone heeded to him. He commanded the crowds, and hypnotised them by witchcraft. Now if a man can capture an entire city by sorcery, think of what the power of God can do! Think of what influence and authority we can have amongst men when we yield to the Holy Ghost.

Souls can be won, clients can be influenced, and cities can be captured and impacted by the power of the Spirit. Also note that even though Simon had bewitched the city of Samaria, Philip didn’t have to break any demonic power over the city. He preached the word, and the demonic atmosphere was neutralise. Even Simon believed. The power is in the word.

I know the place of prayer in taking territories, but the word of God is the power of God. That power is even greater than prayer because prayer must be founded on the word to be potent. As the word of God comes to you even now, every power of darkness is broken over your life. Remember, Jesus “…cast out the spirits with his word…” (Matt 8:16). No evil spirit can stand the word! Glory to God!

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for your word. You work works mightily in me and prevails over every power of darkness. I win by the word. Your word roots out persistent challenges out of my life. I walk in victory by your word in Jesus’ name.
