INCREASE IN STRENGTH
[[Act 9:22]] KJV But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
Saul was breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, and went to the high priest to get permit to arrest believers and bring them bound to Jerusalem (Acts 9:1,2). He became the biggest threat to the church.
On the road to Damascus, he encountered Christ and got saved. He joined the believers in Damascus, but many doubted him (Act 9:21). Many times, people will use our past to write us off. The people you thought should believe in you can doubt you because of your past mistakes. And this can cripple you and impede you in life and ministry.
But in our opening text, Saul on the contrary increase the more in strength regardless. Note that God didn’t strengthen Saul. He rather increased in strength. When people persecute you and doubt your dream or conversion, instead of folding up, increase in strength. Let hard times unleash the inpregnable from within you.
What has come against you cannot crush you. There is strength in you. Every great ministry was conceived at the lowerest moments. In life, something will hit you. But don’t break: increase rather in strength. When people criticise you, let that challenge you to do more. Be stubborn. Stay focused. And increase in strength. Glory to God! I see you prevail against all odds. No one can argue with results when you produce one.
Prayer:
Dear LORD I thank you for your word today. I’m strengthened by your word. In the midst of critics and challenges, I rather increase in strength. I declare that I’m strengthened with might in my inner man. My financial state right now cannot break me. I rather increase in strength. Thank you LORD that I win today in Jesus’ name
