MAGNIFY YOUR MINISTRY
[[Rom 11:13]] KJV For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine ministry:
Paul was an apostle to the Gentiles, and he knew how to magnify his ministry. God wants us to magnify our ministries. To magnify is the Greek “Doxazo” meaning ‘to impart glory to something, render it excellent, to make renowned, render illustrious, to cause the dignity and worth of some person or thing to become manifest and acknowledged.
God has given everyone of us a ministry. This is not talking about pastoring churches. We all have a ministry from God. 2 Corinthians tells us that “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; *(2Cor 5:18).”
We have been given a ministry of reconciliation. This is the ministry of reconciling men to God through the preaching of the gospel. We are called to be soul winners. And we must magnify and make our ministry glorious.
Paul, in our opening text, shows us how to magnify our ministry. Paul said he speaks to the Gentiles because he was an apostle to the Gentiles; this is how he magnified his ministry – by doing and staying focused with God’s assignment for him. In the same vain, we magnify our ministry by winning souls and staying focused on it.
Many times, we allow ourselves to be distracted. We place other things above soul winning. This morning, the Holy Ghost is calling our attention to our sole purpose for living: soul winning. This is our ministry. And we must do everything to magnify our ministry. Today, do everything you can to magnify your ministry. Touch a life. Win a soul. Stay focused.
Prayer:
Father, I thank you for the election of grace into the ministry. Without you, I can do nothing. I pray for the grace to magnify my ministry of soul winning and to touch lives. Grant me the boldness to impart a soul today for your glory in Jesus’ name.
