THE MYSTERY OF UTTERANCE

[[Eph 6:19]] KJV And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Paul in the above admonished the brethren to pray for him that utterance may be given unto him, so that he may boldly make the mystery of the gospel known. Notice three important words: 1. Utterance, 2. Boldly, and 3. Mystery.

In today’s study, we will look at utterance. The first thing we learn here is that utterance can be given through prayer. Utterance is divine expression that comes from the Holy Ghost. Jesus said in Luke 21:15, “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”

That’s divine utterance! Utterance is when the word gains entrance. This is a major requirement for soul wining. You can speak to a man from dusk to dawn, but if the Holy Ghost does not open the heart to receive, everything will be in vain.

In Acts 16:14, the Bible talks about Lydia: “whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.” God have Paul utterance, and the word entered Lydia’s heart. She responded imminently. This is why fervent prayer before outreach is key. Always pray fervently that God will give you utterance.

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for teaching me your word today. I ask that you grant me utterance as I go out to talk to others. I declare that as I speak, the word will make entry into the hearts of my hearers. I walk in divine utterance in Jesus’ name.
