THE OBJECT OF DIVINE LOVE
[[Eph 5:25]] KJV Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
In the above, husbands are admonished to love their wives. But actually, it’s allegorical because Paul here speaks of Christ and His Church (Eph 5:32). Christ is the husband, and the Church is His bride (Rev 19:7). This teaches us an important truth about our relationship with Christ: it’s not religion but a covenant relationship. We are married to Christ. Glory to God!
Like the husband is in covenat relationship with the wife, so are we and Christ. The striking thing in the above is that the husband is instructed to love his wife. The reason is simple, women are not made to love; they are made to be loved. They are recipients of love. In the same way, you are the Church of Jesus and His bride. You have, therefore, become the object of Christ’s love. All of the love of Jesus is directed towards you. Glory to God!
You are called into a love relationship. As the bride, you are the recipient of all the love. You are married to Christ, and there’s no divorce. You are married and loved for life. Glory to God! No wonder Paul contended that nothing “shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord” (Rom 8:39). Friend, nothing can separate you from Christ’s love. You are loved for life. Hallelujah!
Today, step out in boldness and confidence, knowing that you’re loved. God loves you, and absolutely nothing can separate you from His love. Not even your flaws and weaknesses can separate you from God’s love in Christ. Remember, it’s a married relationship, and divorce is only possible by fornication. In the bible, forsaking God and going after other gods was fornication (2Chr 21:11). In order words, so long as Jesus remains your Lord, and you submit to Him as a wife submits to her husband, you remain His perpetual object of love and enjoy all His providence. Glory!
Prayer:
Dear God, I thank you for lavishing your love on me without measure. I’m grateful and amazed at your endless and boundless love for me. Nothing in the world can pay for your love. Even my love for you is not enough because your love is greater. Thanks a million. I love you, Lord.
